MOTTO – Aatmanaam Vidhim (to know thyself)
The remarkable success of Sri Aurobindo International School(SAIS), Hyderabad that was started by the Institute of Human Study in 1967, proves the effectiveness of Sri Aurobindo’s and The Mother’s vision of Integral Education. The knowledge and experience gained during the incredible and enriching journey of learning at SAIS through the 50 years, has given birth to a Residential school New Creation – A free Progress School which has begun in the year 2015. It is spread across 50 acres of perfectly designed learning spaces in nature.
The school offers its students a unique experience of holistic education. It aims at complete development of a child with a focus on providing Integral Education that is founded on the principle of ever growing perfection.
Vision
To provide education that explores and facilitates the growth of the outer and the inner aspects of human being.
Mission
To enable every child…
- to learn intellectually, aesthetically, and practically.
- to understand the world and experience the joy of learning
- to develop personality and character
- to grow into responsible global citizens
- to thirst for knowledge and aspire for progress
- to discover his/her own soul potential
- to know themselves and choose their own destiny
Integral Education Ideals
Our school is guided by Sri Aurobindo’s three principles of Teaching:
- The first principle of true teaching is that Nothing can be taught….
- The second principle is that the mind has to be consulted in its own growth…
- The third principle of education is to work from the near to the far, from that which is to that which shall be...
In the light of these three principles we need:
- To show the true purpose of teaching which is to bring forth the hidden knowledge within the child and help it to rise to the surface.
- To help every child to develop his own intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, moral, spiritual being and his/her communal life and impulses out of his own temperament and capacities.
- To develop the child’s mental faculties and build the powers of his mind.
- To enable the teachers to develop their zeal for perpetual progress.
Guiding Principles
Human development critically depends on the ambience, the opportunities generated and the material support provided in a free and joyous environment.
- Learner learns when motivated.
- Learning lasts long when it is experiential.
- Every learner has potential to learn on one’s own.
- Learning betters as one becomes progressively independent of the teacher in the classroom.
- Pace of learning varies from student to student.
